An undated manuscript written by Annie C. Courtenay, describing life at Oxmoor plantation. Courtenay describes how Mildred Ann Bullitt, Louisiana Taylor, and Lucinda would sew and knit all the clothes worn by the people enslaved by the Bullitt family. Louisiana Taylor and Lucinda were two women enslaved by Mildred Ann Bullitt. Courtenay also describes the living conditions of the enslaved people at Oxmoor, William Christian Bullitt, and the cholera epidemic. -

Sophia Bullitt's Last Will and Testament emancipating four people she enslaved, May 27th, 1803.
Sophia Bullitt's last will and testament, dated May 27th, 1803. In this document, Sophia Bullitt emancipates four people she previously enslaved - Frederick, his mother Joan, David, and Antony - a year after her death. She also leaves fifty acres to Frederick and stipulates that he must be educated for three years and be bound in a trade. She also stipulates that the money Jenny made in being hired out should be "annually paid into the said Jenny's own hands." -
