Description

Sophia Bullitt's last will and testament, dated May 27th, 1803. In this document, Sophia Bullitt emancipates four people she previously enslaved - Frederick, his mother Joan, David, and Antony - a year after her death. She also leaves fifty acres to Frederick and stipulates that he must be educated for three years and be bound in a trade. She also stipulates that the money Jenny made in being hired out should be "annually paid into the said Jenny's own hands."
