Letter addressed to Miss Nellie F. Rahe, Milan, Indiana, Rural Route #2, Box 52 Postmarked Tuesday, September 24, 1918.
Y.M.C.A. No. 152 Camp Taylor, Ky Sept. 23, 1918
Dearest Nellie - Well I will keep on writing but I can not understand why I don't hear from you are [sic] any one else. sur[e]ly you have not forgotten me. I am so lonely now that I don't get any letters that I feel like doing most any thing. I just don't know what to do. just think it is going on the third week and no letters[.] it is awful. I ask every day and the answer is no mail. oh! it hurts. they surely don't look after the mail the way they should. Have you seen any of the folks lately and have you been to Sunday School? I wish that I might be able to come and go every Sunday. I was over to the services at the Y.M.C.A. Sunday morning they were good and oh! it made me think of you and home. I got me another comfort so now I have two blankets and a comfort that the Co. gave me and the blanket I brought from home. now I sleep warm. I can't think of much to write but when I get a letter from you perhaps I can write more.
I am yours forever
