In a letter from 8 Feb 1896, Foster writes to Weller, explaining that he cannot come to Louisville to select a child, but will pay the railroad fare for one to be sent to him on a trial basis in case he wants to return it. He requests a boy that is "good, healthy, lidable," under 9 or 10 years old, and requests papers.
