Regular Monthly Meeting for October [1890]

This was the first meeting after adjournment for the Summer; and its special object was to consider the advisability of holding the Annual Suffrage Convention in Louisville.

The Sec'y's report of the last meeting (May) was read and approved. The Treasurer's report showed a balance from 1889 of $4.95. Annual dues paid $9.00.

The President asked for suggestions as to the line of work to be taken up.

It was proposed to devote a considerable time to Hygiene and Dress, as that might influence many ladies to attend the meetings who are not interested in Suffrage.

The most convenient time for holding the meetings was considered. The second Tuesday in the month best suited the members present, but as there was a small attendance, it was deemed advisable to defer action until a general expression could be had.

The minor business being now disposed of, the consideration of Louisville as a suitable place for holding the Convention was taken up. After much discussion of the matter Mrs. Leech made the following motion, that it is the sense of this meeting that it is not wise to attempt to hold a suffrage convention in Louisville yet. Seconded by Mrs. Huber, and carried.
