Regular Monthly Meeting May, 1890

At the regular monthly meeting for May there were few in attendance; but our ranks were re-inforced by a new member, Mrs. Hayden, and our Vice President, Mrs Leech, was with us again after a protracted absence due to ill health.

After the usual devotional exercises, the regular order of business was disposed of as follows: Minutes of previous meeting read, and accepted. Treasurer's report accepted. Mrs. Johnson who had been to Frankfort to represent our Asso. in the Woman's Property Rights Bill pending before the Legislature reported that indications were not favorable to passage of the bill. An article that Mrs. Johnson had written and desires to have published, if approved by the Asso., was referred to a Com. of Mrs. Watts and Huber. A motion was made, and seconded, that Miss Shaw should be asked to make a lecture tour in this state.

It was decided that as the time was so limited before those interested would be leaving for the Summer, the business should be deferred until Fall. The advisability of having Miss Clay deliver a lecture in Louisville was discussed from the same standpoint, and the same decision arrived at. The success of Mrs. [LauraOrniston] Chant's recent lectures in this city was commented
