The diesel trolleys were conceived of by advocates for downtown to help revitalize and bring business to the downtown shopping district. The trolleys ran at 15mph and ran along the 4th street corridor. The trolleys were named after the same trolley system that ran to downtown Louisville in the early 20th century, and after the famed Toonerville Trolley cartoons by Louisville-native Fontaine Fox.
