A composite work of photography and painting likely done by Herman Gunter. The image shows Karoline Günter at her writing desk with a photo of Herman on the table. Their five children at the time and a dog are nearby and at her feet. They are all looking up to see Herman Gunter walk through the door.

Not much is known of the piece. It was likely the family was assembled in a photography studio, and details such as Herman coming through the door were painted in along with the other details, such as the reflection in the mirror. It demonstrates that Paul's father likely played with art and photography.
