In a letter from 18 Dec 1894, Townes writes to Weller to ask for a application blank for a "small sharp tractable well disposed boy to wait on [him]." He says that his household consists of "two aged sisters ful able and competent to manage child" and that he wants to apprentice the boy. He includes recommendations. Letter marked Waverly, KY.
