    This article by Hilmar Rosenthal reviews a successful year-long musical education concert series hosted by the Y.M.H.A, led by Jay W. Fay, Morris Simon, and Joseph Horvath. Themed performances explored topics ranging from Romantic and Modern styles, to German and Russian composers. The series was a reported success noting "Something new had been offered to Louisville, and all performances had been met with instance and permenant favor."

First organized as an official Jewish community organization in the mid-19th century, in 1938 the IKG was tasked with managing emmigration and deportation of Vienese Jews.

According to the family, Catharine is wearing the wig that her daughter, Viola Stow Dufour [018PC4.03] commissioned for Catharine's 50th wedding anniversary celebration. It cost $20 and, due to the Ohio River flood of February 1884, did not arrive in time.
