As an art student Enid took core classes including drawing, oil and water color painting, decorative design, wood carving, and sculpture. While we don’t know when Enid created these watercolors, it is evident that it was early on in her art career because she is playing around with color theory.
First year students at the Art Academy learned how to: lay flat washes in transparent colors, the graduation of color, the nature of the different pigments used in water colors, the combination of tints and shades by overlaying of transparent washed, and painting from still-life objects.
